Granby Police were summoned to a motor vehicle crash that occurred in the area of 513 East State Street at approximately 5:30 PM this evening.  Officers arrived to find a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle.  The 50 year old female bicyclist was thrown from the bike and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle that struck the rider left the scene without stopping.  Granby Ambulance personnel responded to the scene to provide medical attention to the victim.  The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was transported to the hospital for treatment.  The accident is currently being investigated by Granby Police.


Witnesses described the vehicle as a tan colored (1990-1995) Dodge/Chrysler minivan.  The minivan was also described as having black front and rear bumpers.  The minivan is damaged on the passenger’s side and is missing the side view mirror. The vehicle was last seen driving south bound on Route 202 in Granby.
