Officers from the Granby Police Department and officers assigned to the North Western District Attorney’s Office Anti-Crime Task Force began investigating illegal drug activity that involved a suspect living in Granby. The investigation concluded with officers applying for search warrants for a vehicle owned by 32 year old Gary LeFebvre, LeFebvre’s person and his cellular phone. The search warrants were issued on April 24th from the Eastern Hampshire District Court.
On April 25th the investigating officers were conducting surveillance of LeFebvre and initiated a traffic stop at approximately 2:40 PM on Taylor Street in Granby to execute the warrants.
Officers located approximately 100 bags of heroin, $430 dollars and various prescription pills in LeFebvre’s possession. LeFebvre was placed under arrest and transported back to the Granby Police Department for processing. Officers then applied for, and were granted, a search warrant for LeFebvre’s home at 507 East State Street in Granby. That search lead to the seizure of approximately 700 more bags of heroin. The approximate total weight of the heroin seized was 24 grams with a street value of approximately $8000.
Lefebvre was charged with Trafficking a Class A Substance (heroin 18-36 grams), Possession of a Class E Substance (Clonazepam and Lorazepam) and Possession of a Class B Substance (Oxycodone). LeFebvre’s bail was set at $5000. Lefebvre was transported to the Regional lock-up at the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department to be held until he was bailed later that night.
LeFebvre was arraigned at the Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown on April 26th. The next court appearance for LeFebvre is scheduled for July 25th.
