The Granby Police Department is seeking your help in fighting crime by taking part in the Granby Camera Registry Program (GCRP). The GCRP allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their video surveillance systems with the Granby Police Department. When a crime occurs, police will be able to identify the locations of nearby cameras and enlist the assistance of the community to help officers collect video evidence and follow up on leads. With this program, the Granby Police Department will be able to directly contact GCRP members that are using video surveillance in an area in which a crime occurred. Police would ask GCRP members to check their video footage for a specific date and time that may show activity involved with a crime, such as a getaway car or the direction that a person of interest traveled.

Please read the GCRP Description and Terms of Use Policy:
Registration is voluntary and there is no cost associated with registration. Registering your camera does not provide the Granby Police Department with direct access to your camera. You may delete your registration at any time by calling us at (413) 467-9222. An individual’s personal information will be kept confidential by the Granby Police Department subject to disclosure per court order. Your information will be accessed by law enforcement personnel who are investigating a crime in the vicinity of where your camera is located. You will only be contacted by the Granby Police Department if there is criminal incident in the vicinity of your security camera. Police personnel, if necessary, may request a copy of any video captured by your camera, which may assist in the investigation of a crime.

Terms of Use:
The goal of the program is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the Granby Police Department and the residents and businesses we are sworn to protect. Accordingly, all registered members agree to the following terms and conditions: Any footage containing or related to criminal activity may be collected by the Granby Police Department for use as evidence during any stage of a criminal proceeding. Under no circumstance shall registered members construe that they are acting as an agent and/or employee of the Town of Granby and/or the Granby Police Department through the program. If necessary, the Granby Police Department will contact you directly, using information provided by you, to request the appropriate video surveillance footage. By submitting this information, the registered member understands and agrees to the above policy and terms of use.

Thank you for your consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Officer Kendall Hill at (413) 467-9222 or email at
