Granby Emergency Personnel Respond to West State St. for a 2 Car Motor Vehicle Crash

On Friday August 17, 2012 at approximately 14:00 hours, the Granby Police Department received several E911 calls for a two car traffic accident with injuries in the area of 25 West State Street (RT202). When officers arrived on scene, they provided first aid to both operators until ambulance personal arrived on scene. Once ambulance personnel arrived, both operators were treated and transported to area hospitals. Granby Fire personnel were also dispatched to the scene to assist with the cleanup of the accident scene.
West State Street was shut down for approximately 1 hour by South Hadley Police, Granby Police and MA State Police, while the accident was under investigation. It was found that the operator of a 1998 Mercedes sedan was traveling west on RT 202, when it crossed the yellow center divider line striking a Ford F-250 pickup truck in the front driver side portion of the vehicle. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Once the vehicles were towed from the scene and the roadway was reopened.
